The 37th Annual Gift of Wings IKEA Family Kite Festival is here, and the eight-hour event,
which runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Veterans Park, a Milwaukee County park,
will feature 600 kites and performances by the awesome Windjammers Precision Kite Team.
Activities to do at the festival
The Chicago Fire Kite Team will also be flying with all of its members,
and there will be some rarely seen kites at the festival,
including a super giant whale kite and a 120-foot trilobite kite.
There will also be free kite flying lessons, and the first 100 children will receive a free kite.
Schedule and highlights of the Akron City Festival
The Akron City Festival is a six-hour event from noon to 6 p.m. celebrating the upcoming school year for youth.
Highlights of the event will include an exciting schedule of games, basketball, a parade,
and a fashion show that will bring the community together and be fun for people of all ages.
The parade will begin at 1 p.m. and will feature student athletes and youth organizations,
and will begin at Rosa Parks Drive and end at the Lock 3 Backyard Stage.
